Paul Kandell

Supervisor-Administration

Dip Hlth Sc., B.App.Sc. (Psych, Nutrition)

Following completion of VCE at Diamond Valley Secondary College Paul took a job at IGA, moving quickly up to Manager of a department.  He followed this with two years at Conditionair Manufacturing Pty Ltd working on website development and digital marketing.

In 2012 he decided his interests lay more strongly in the health field so took a part-time job as a receptionist at Parkhill Medical Centre and enrolled in a Diploma of Health Sciences at Deakin University, followed by a Bachelor of Applied Science in Psychology and Nutrition.

It was our excellent good fortune that Paul joined Wellness Medicine in 2015.  He started as a receptionist but by late 2016 his abilities had become apparent and he was promoted to Administration Supervisor for our practice.

Paul can often be seen on reception because “I love the patients, enjoy interacting with them and helping them.  I believe strongly in our concept of Quality Patient Care and am keen to be directly involved in supporting this”.  He also somehow seems to be able to juggle the fast-paced demands of a busy desk with the complexities of administration.

Paul does admit that “it is getting trickier as I oversee our tri-annual accreditation process and it will get even harder in 2018 when I start my Masters in Health Administration while still working full time”.

Paul also has a certificate in Autism Behavioural Therapy and has worked as a volunteer therapist with the Autism Behavioural Intervention Association.

When he’s not working and studying and helping people he somehow finds time to keep healthy himself through running, gym work and recreational boxing.
